The Formula For Success

The Formula For Success
By Idede Oseyande
“Wisdom is the PRINCIPAL thing, therefore get Wisdom. And in all thy getting, get understanding”~ Proverbs
A month ago, I was talking to a group of students at the assembly ground under the school outreach arm of my church, (Deeper Life School Outreach). I took my exhortation from the book of Proverbs as stated in the quotation above. After the exercise, I wasn’t satisfied. There was this emptiness in my spirit as if I had not communicated.
So I kept asking, “God what else do you want me to do? I have passed the message as best as I could”. The uneasiness was still there until a directive came that brought peace to my soul.
What was the directive?
I was asked to use the mathematical formula for finding simple interests to pass the message. What is the correlation between that formula and the message?
Pay attention to the explanation below.
To make it in life can be likened to a businessman that wants to make profits. And so you will want your interests to keep growing. This means you must pay attention to the factors that are responsible for the interest to increase.
What are these factors?
According to simple interest, these factors include Principal, Rate, and Time with a general denominator of 100.
Proverbs, therefore, gave us a hint of what the principal thing is.
So to succeed in life, one needs WISDOM- the Principal!
This can be described as information, skills, technical know-how, education, etc.
The above Wisdom will be a waste if it is not applied, just as the Principal will not grow if the Rate at which it is used to generate turnover is not increased.
In real life, the Rate here is knowledge; that is the application of Wisdom.
That skill you have, the information you have gathered and all the education you have amassed will not yield success if they are not applied. You must learn to convert wisdom to practical knowledge in its application.
Then, we have the third factor which is Time. The Bible says the children of Issachar had an understanding of time, so they tell Israel what they ought to do at the right time.
So when Proverbs said in all thy getting get understanding, it simply means you must understand the application of timing as it relates to success.
To succeed one must know what to do at the right time.
With all the wisdom and knowledge, if you launch at the wrong time, you will fail. Therefore, the place of time cannot be overemphasized.
The value of time is what will help you have the needed patience too, knowing that the fruits of the application of your knowledge will manifest with time.
The 100 which is the general denominator is the God factor.
In life, the Principal varies as we all don’t have the same measure of wisdom. Knowledge too varies from person to person, the same with time, as everyone does not live equal number of years on earth.
The only factor that we all have equally is the God factor.
God is there for everyone. If you seek him, he will show up for you. If you ignore him, he will also ignore you.
I don’t know how you have lived in the first half of the year, but if you practice this formula in this second half, be rest assured that you will succeed!
If this simple formula for success has blessed you, then pass it on to others.
