Attributes of A Team Player- 4

By Idede Oseyande
Matured and Mannered!
One of the gainful attributes of a team player is to be mature and well-mannered.
Mature here does not necessarily mean a function of age, rather it is the ability to do what you were supposed to do or assigned to do without being pestered to do it.
A good team player does not need to be pushed, pestered, and monitored before they do what is expected of them.
If everyone needs to be pushed, who then would do the pushing?
Secondly, the manner of approach with which you present an idea is as important as the idea itself.
What this implies is that it is not enough to have a great idea, you must master the art of presentation in such a way that those hearing will be open to considering your idea and opinion.
That is, your presentation must be with courtesy in such a way that it will be appealing to the hearers. No matter how lofty the idea might be, once you present it in a way that suggest the people are dull not to have conceived such ideas before now, or you make them look foolish for not understanding your point of view, they will resist it with all their might.
I hope you now have a grasp of what it takes to be a Team Player?
So are you a team player?
