Attributes of A Team Destroyer- 4

by Idede Oseyande
As we come to the last lap of the series, I will take the last letter from the word team, which is M!
These are those team members that will make everyone feel they are an asset to the team. They will brag of how the solution to the task is at their fingertips and with a simple tweaking of the fingers, the solutions will be provided.
Meanwhile, they are as worthless as the dried shells of a centipede. So many leaders have been made to look stupid for falling for such mouthy fellows.
Once you encounter them in your team, don’t try to massage their ego by assigning tasks to them. Simple burst their bubble by requesting for verifiable proofs of their previous experience in that field. If you can’t verify it, please don’t fall for the empty talk!
The next on the line is their heady counterparts who feel their opinions are always superior.
A good example are those who will always remind the group of where they are coming from.
“Sir, from my past experience in a situation like this…
“Sir, from where I am coming from…
“Sir, from my previous task…
“Sir, from what I know…”
While they want everyone to hear their opinion, they are quick to discard the opinion of others when it is at variance with theirs.
If a team of ten members wants to impose their various opinions on the subject matter, how can they agree on the way forward?
Let us not also forget the outright mannerless ones who can even start a physical fight in the team.
They are classless, uncouth, and unrefined. There is no difference between them and the street urchins in society.
The best way to get rid of these ones is to use them to handle the task they are good at, fight mannerless people from other teams. If you fail to engage them in a place where they can exact that their street behaviour, they will pour the energy back to disrupt your team.
Use them as bouncers during meetings or attendance officers. 😁😀
I hope you learnt something?
Do not allow a team destroyer to ruin your team.
