APC’s Healing Balm And His Quest For A Better Edo

By Edoko Wilson Edoko

Literarily speaking politics, they say can be likened to a war expressly fought without bloodshed but with the use of words according to the foremost Chinese leader, Mao Zedong.

This clearly describes the rate at which well meaning Edolites have continued to express their concerns over the news that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu (Esq) has moved from his erstwhile party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with his formal resignation.

The talk of the town for weeks even till now has been centred around the former Chief of staff and Secretary to Edo state Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu whose political clout cuts across people from various political divide, professional bodies, business and the diplomatic corp, unarguably endearing him to many.

Whether your understanding upon hearing the news of his resignation with respected leaders and members of the PDP to the APC has been positive or otherwise, one variable remains constant which is the fact that POI’s loyalty is solidly built around the people, those who have over the years stood firm with him in both troubled and joyous times.

Though not perturbed by the seemingly perplexity displayed by several camps within the ranks of APC, speaks volume. But as you already know POI, the experienced political tactician has over the years demonstrated that trait of being a unifier, peace maker and someone with the overflowing grace to proffer a headway even in the face of an impossible situation, this will certainly be the healing balm of the APC in Edo state.

Since the game changer landed, it is natural for people with contrary opinions to start making their voices heard, unfortunately brandishing unprintable words, however the irony is that one can’t fight with his own shadow but rather accept the fate befallen him.

I dare say that a man in the caliber of POI can’t be distracted by these innuendos but confidently focused on making Edo great again irrespective of any sentiments – Edo comes first!

Apparently, cross carpeting has or can never diminish the astuteness of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s sagacity politically as his political family keeps swelling by the day, putting his foes to perpetual oblivion.

Greatness will come by looking forward untethered from the politics of the past, anchored by our shared values thereby changing the fortunes of our state for the better.

Therefore, now is not the time to sit on fence but align with POI’s purposeful and progressive leadership in moving Edo from its current state to our desired destination.

The Future Is Now!
