And God Lied-4?
“…lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”.
To excel this year, one of the things you must guard against are those serpents that pose as friends. They will come with ‘friendly’ counsels as if they care about you, meanwhile, they are only using you to fight their enemies, or to achieve their own goals.
To buttress my point, let me reiterate the conversation between Eve and the serpent.
The serpent approached the woman as if it cared about her welfare and made her think God lied and prevented them from attaining their full potentials, when He banned them from eating the fruit of knowledge. The serpent positioned itself as the good one, and God as the bad one. Meanwhile, it was all a ploy to get at God for being thrown out of heaven.
To show the serpent was not really bothered about the woman, it did not inform the woman of the ‘tree of life’ that would have been the real deal by making her get access to immortality like itself.
This year, there are people who will come to you to ask why you are still loyal to your boss, or why you are you still giving your all to your employer.
They will make you see your boss as a liar, an ungrateful bastard, or as someone who doesn’t want to see you grow. They will counsel you to quit, rebel, get involved in illicit deals to defraud the company, and they will justify it as getting back at the establishment for what they have done to you.
Some on Instagram will flaunt their wealth and tell you it is to motivate you to succeed. Motivate or intimidate? Who motivates without showing you the path to achieve a similar feat?
There are serpents everywhere, beware!
While these counsels and concerns would be coming, don’t forget to weigh it on this scale.
1) Who will bear the brunt of this decision if it goes awry?
2) Will this counsel make me better or equal to the person giving the counsel?
3) Is this counsel for me or the counsellor has an ulterior motive?
4) Am I being used to fight the battle of an individual or that of a group?
This year, don’t jump into action based on the counsel of a friend, relative, colleague, or mentor, no matter how promising it might sound.
…try every spirit to see if it is of God.
…try every counsel to know if it is for your interest or that of the counsellor.
As always, don’t forget, Attitude is Everything!
