And God Lied -1?
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” ~Gen 2:16-17
As we start a new year, there is a need to lay down the right foundation so that when the year ends, you can look back and truly say; “2020 was a great year!”
The major reason the condition of some people doesn’t improve year in year out is that they lack the requisite understanding to break forth. They end up breaking the rules of success ignorantly thereby living in mediocrity year after year.
That’s why the book of Proverbs clearly puts it thus: “#Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get #understanding.”
Some children of #Eve have followed the ignorance of their mother and have continued to confuse themselves with the simple instruction God gave Adam and Eve while they lived in the garden of Eden. God did not hide the fact that the tree contained the power of knowledge, He made them realise that it was indeed the tree of knowledge, but if they ate from it, they would die!
And the subtle serpent came with all subtlety to a verified ignoramus and told her, “did he say you will die? You will not die, you will be like gods knowing ‘good and evil'”.
Do you see what the serpent did there? He took away ‘knowledge’ and replaced it with ‘good and evil’ to beguile the woman with a curiosity that would later consume her.
And tell me, why was she anxious to know ‘good and evil’?
If she really sought genuine knowledge, why not ask Adam her husband or ask God directly?
But that is not the crux of the matter. She ate the fruit and she did not die, so she thought.
And she gave it to her husband too, and he ate also but did not die!
So did God lie about the death penalty?
Was it a mere threat?
Was God trying to tame them with fear?
I presume you might be wondering how this relates to earning higher income this year?
You might be tempted to discard the post and dump it among the inconsequentials.
Remember, the devil is in the details.
…..to be continued.
